Lynne Wright MA, QTS, CDE, DIP LCDD

FOUNDER AND DIRECTOR OF WTA DANCE ACADEMY

Lynne trained at The London College of Dance and Drama and danced professionally in this country and the Americas for a number of years. She won critical acclaim in Buenos Aires where she founded, performed with and choreographed for her own dance company before returning to Ilkley, West Yorkshire where she taught for many and varied dance establishments including being one of the founder teachers and board members of The Yorkshire Dance Centre where she taught Jazz dance and founded the children’s work. In 1989 she began working in the fitness industry, specializing in exercise to music, ante and post-natal exercise and exercise for the elderly, gaining a certificate in advanced fitness from Loughborough University.

In 2002 she attained an M.A. in Contemporary Performing Arts, specialising in choreography, since then she set up and ran a successful dance department at Bingley Grammar School in West Yorkshire, boasting some of the best GCSE and A Level results in the area, whilst attaining Qualfied Teacher Status (QTS). She has worked as a dance professional in schools for many years and is an experienced workshop leader and inset trainer.
She was the artistic director of TranscenDance Co, a performing company of dancers and teachers with whom she ran summer theatre schools each year known as The Light Fantastic which are now a regular feature in WTA which she founded in 2007.

Lynne founded Wright Theatre Arts in order to promote her personal ethos which is to develop excellence and confidence within a safe, friendly and supportive environment.
